Missions
Faith Lutheran’s mission is to invite all people to faith; come and worship, go and work. As an extension of that theme, the Missions Ministry Team assists our members to see the world through God’s eyes of love for all people. The Team does this by supporting and serving locally, nationally, and globally.
Annually, after prayerful consideration, the Mission Team recommends “Mission Partners” who will be supported financially from funds set aside from general offerings. Because we desire to build a relationship with these partners, the Team works to assist the congregation to know how these mission partners spread God’s love and where they serve. Guidelines have been established to give priority to Christian ministries that spread the gospel, especially Lutheran groups.
The Team supports members of Faith who go on short term mission trips to work for Christ. These are usually intergenerational groups who visit impoverished urban city areas or international Christian missions who welcome volunteer help.
Local ministries also need our help to provide care and love to people in our community. The Team works with other teams in our church to promote volunteer activities and willing hands for work days.
Swiss theologian, Emil Brunner stated that “The Church exists by mission as a fire exists by burning.” Faith’s Mission Team exists by prayer and God’s work in the hearts of our members.
